Random Ramblings
This post is going to be messy as there are many things i wish to pen down, but can't be bothered to organise them.A friend commented I am a great SERVANT. Yes. When the need arises, I have to serve. Well in a way I'm glad I went for it. Admist all the complains and grumbles, I had a good time. I miss the humility of serving others, giving a reassuring smile, lending a helping hand to the needy ones. All these little acts seem to bring me to another dimension, where I no longer need to be the one demanding control and authority. It has also been some time since I met new people, other than my old friends and workmates. The only thing we all had in common was that we serve, and we all grumble about this duty (as do all singaporeans). Yet I'm glad I still managed to mingle with almost all of them. I am really thankful I took the initiative to turn and talk to the lady who sat beside me during the briefing, as she turned out to be a secondary school mate! There were also many other likable characters. In particular, my ARO and SPO. I had some nice long insightful conversations with them despite being aqquainted for less than 3 days. This is something I really appreciate as I don't usually warm up to people very fast. Oh and my ARO mentioned that he had thought I am married! Goodnes, have i lost that touch of youth already?? ArghhThough it was real tiring to serve others, I am thankful for the encounter. For it had been a long time since I last felt human. I had been a working machine for the longest time. It was a real opportunity to remind me that the world outside still exists and it is still big, with many people around other than my workmates. Not to say that i'm tired of my workmates, but sometimes you do need to alienate yourself from your situation in order to see things more clearly. The tiring experience has, in the strangest manner, rejuvenated me.Recently, I picked up an old habit. Drinking coffee. That is something I had not done since my uni days. I used to enjoy coffee as a beverage, but had stopped that as the bitterness in the taste infiltrated my life as well. I had return to this bad habit very recently. My purpose this time round is as down-to-earth as what I had evolved to be: to keep myself awake, especially so to clear work until unearthly hours. I have always been a night owl, and is more productive at night, yet my profession disallows such a lifestyle. Thus, I have been moulded into an ideal servant, one that my profession would approve of. And bit by bit, I'm losing myself. To lose means gaining another chance to win. What I lack is just my wardance :)
